Rather than copying Sensible Soccer or Kick Off, this football game features a number of comical and unrealistic touches. Although the view is top-down, the pitch is small and square, and the players appear huge on it. A range of moves including overhead kicks, trapping the ball and quick 1-2 passes can be mastered.

Before each match your team can choose special moves to assign to each player - power shots with ludicrous curve, super dribbling (making the ball stick to your foot), and a Barge power to push players out of the way. A full world cup tournament is offered, which up to 8 human players can partake in, as well as single exhibition matches. The action replays feature a VCR-style control.

Empire Soccer is an average football game with a different look compared to many other football games like Kick Off, Sensible Soccer offers. Of course these later mentioned games are more realistic in their included features than Empire Soccer.

The first impression is not the best, you might think badly because the game takes time to get into. Once you learn how to play this game can make you addicted.

Forget the teachings of other soccer games, because the major difference of Empire Soccer when compared to them are the graphics and the overall interface; in this game you can see only a little portion of the field and for that I can say that the players look much bigger. The players are well animated and look much better than the players in others like Kick Off or Sensible Soccer. What I don't like in these is that the player had much trouble trying to control the ball. In Empire Soccer is not the case because the ball control is very good and the super dribble will make your opponents crazy. Passing it is very important. Once you learn to pass instead of drilling into the defence with your player, you can damage the defence of the enemy team. Sadly, once you get the hang of it, the computer teams are quite easy and you can do unimaginable scores against the weaker teams.

Before a match you can chose special team moves to each player this option includes (power shots, super dribbling (making the ball glue to the foot), and a Barge power to push players out of yours way.

There are many tournaments to play as well as different difficulty selections so everyone can be able to play and win, and then playing more difficult levels as they improve.

The controls are easy, and can be redefined if needed both player 1 and player 2. Graphics are quite nice in 640x400 with 256 colours; sounds will get you in the mood for the game.

Empire Soccer is overall a simple football game offering nothing new but if you like these games you might find the game interesting. This game has international teams, and multiplayer options. I think this game deserve 4 stars.

This is a very nice fun football game around in those days. With very fun graphics in stead of the 'realistic' persons used in other soccer-games. You play with one of the international teams against the computer or your friend. You can control the ball very well, well programmed!

Empire Soccer is an average football game (soccer for you US people) with a different approach than many other football games like Kick Off, Sensible Soccer and the FIFA series. Of course all these other games are a bit more serious in their included features than the developers of Empire Soccer.

The biggest difference that Empire Soccer has compared to other football games is the cartoonish graphics and the overall interface where you can see much less of the football field (actually way too little) and that also means that the players are much bigger. The players though are well animated and look much better than the players in Kick Off and Sensible Soccer. What I really hated in all the other early football games and also in Sensible Soccer is that the ball was glued to the player. This is not the case in Empire Soccer though and overall the actual ball control is fairly good and only seen better in games like Kick Off (except for the heading which Kick Off doesn't include at all).

There are numerous tournaments to play as well as different difficulty selections so everyone should be able to win and then move up in levels as they improve. The controls are easy but can be redefined if needed both player 1 and player 2. Empire Soccer is overall a simple football game offering nothing new but if you like these games in general you might find the game good.
