As one of the voices during a "ThreeWay Question" round would cry out, "Oh yes!" You Don't Know Jack Volume 3 has just about everything you could ever want in a computer trivia game.
But what else is new? The previous two Berkeley outings were just short of perfect as well. Actually, there are two very noticeable new features for this version of the game. First, there's the ThreeWay Round, alluded to above. You'll laugh histerically at the sounds accompanied with this round. In other words, you'll know when you've done well . . . and you'll know when you haven't!
Also new to this game is the Impossible Question. You might be thinking to yourself, "It can't be that tough." Believe me, folks. It is. With a $20,000 prize if you get it right, you'll get questions like, "Who won the Silver Medal for weightlifting in the 1896 Summer Olympics?" Not impossible to answer, but not something many people would know either.
Enthusiasts of previous YDKJ outings won't be disappointed that most of the other features from YDKJ3's predecessors are still there. The Gibberish Questions, DisOrDats and, of course, Jack Attacks are all just as entertaining and irreverent as ever. And you can still screw your neighbor (as if adding the ThreeWay Question wasn't enough sexual innuendo).
As with the previous versions, the game is best when three players are going at it. It's fun to laugh at the questions with your friends and even laugh at your friends when they miss them. You won't be the only one laughing at your friends, though, since the host's famous sardonic wit is still there.
Overall, YDKJ3 is a game no pop culture buff with like-minded friends should do without. In fact, the pop culture ignorant will probably enjoy it as well. You can't go wrong.
Graphics: Not much need for many graphics in this game, but the ones there are rather nice.
Sound: The host's voice is clear and there are some interesting sound effects to go along with answers. The music introducing questions wasn't quite as good as previous editions, though.
Enjoyment: This game is just plain fun for any trivia fan. Even better with other players.
Replay Value: You'll want to play game after game at times. Only thing is, the 800 questions eventually have to repeat themselves.
You Don't Know Jack: Volume 3 is a humorous, sarcasm-laced trivia game for up to three players that plays like a parody of the Jeopardy television game show.
The players compete in either 9 or 21 question games and the person with the most money at the end wins. Questions are arranged in categories and all have a time limit. The player will find multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and other special situation questions such as rhyming, jumbled words, as well as sound and picture questions. The final question is always the Jack Attack which is matching up words that fit the clue.
This third installment of the series adds new categories, questions, and features.
