Superstars V8 Racing features customizable vehicles from such manufacturers as Audi, BMW, and Jaguar for competition on ten courses. The game includes five play modes, four difficulty settings, and online support for up to 12 players. Narco Police screenshotNarco Police 1990 Arcade action
This game shows where 3D-Shooters come from. Take this as an early attempt. Pretty simple thing, not very interesting over a longer time, but a sure must-try for 3D-Shooter-Fans. It's not bad as an action-game, but there's nothing really new in it except the 3D-aspect. It's not even 'real' 3D as you aren't able to turn 360 degrees, but anyway - quite enjoyable for one or two rounds. The story? Ah well... as far as I know you are fighting against a drug-cartel on a pacific (?) island - something like that. At least there are several tunnels on this island...

Atomix screenshotAtomix 1990 Puzzle
A great Puzzle-Game! Build molecules... - yep - the problem is, you can only give those atoms a push and they won't stop until they hit a wall or another atom. Sometimes it's very difficult to find a solution to put those parts together. But it's kind of addictive and even got an educational value. You start building simple molecules like water but soon things get more difficult without you even noticing. You'll find yourself muttering things like "now this can't be sooo difficult, there MUST be a way". You'll have to use other atoms as stoppers to get the...

Retribution screenshotRetribution 1994 Arcade action
Decent 3D shooter from Gremlin that tries hard to enhance the immersion with Wing Commander-style 'interactive screens' between missions, but didn't quite succeed due to insipid plot and writing. The plot: as the name implies, fight to avenge the fallen of your race that have been 'harvested' by the evil Krellans (no relation to Star Fleet games). Cutscenes and digitized speech both add to the atmosphere, but unfortunately the plot doesn't get better than the very simplistic kill-the-aliens premise. Between missions, you can wander around in the base talking to different characters (who look remarkably similar to pilots in Wing...

Hound of Shadow, The screenshotHound of Shadow, The 1989 Adventure
This is a good horror IF based on H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu novels. Psychic seances, horrific encounters, and troubling nightmares abound in this game set in Victorian London. Although the in-game graphics (which annoyingly pops up full-screen and obscuring the parser) look awful in their semi black-and-white EGA, the writing is above-average and the parser is quite robust. It won't grab you in quite the same way as Infocom's horror classic The Lurking Horror, but it will provide hours of good puzzle-solving fun amid an interesting plot. ...

Bounty Bob Strikes Back screenshotBounty Bob Strikes Back 1985 Arcade action
Bounty Bob Strikes Back is a great sequel to Bill Hogue's classic Miner 2049er game. Although this is much better than the original, it wasn't as commercially successful - perhaps due to poor marketing and the fact that in 1985 the hype surrounding Bounty Bob's first adventure was starting to fade. Which is a real pity, because Bounty Bob Strikes Back sports numerous improvements over the original and a more challenging gameplay, while retaining the same addictive quality. You are still Bounty Bob, a stumpy miner who must 'claim' every mine level by walking over every platform segment on each level....

Egypt II: The Heliopolis Prophecy screenshotEgypt II: The Heliopolis Prophecy 2000 Adventure
With this game Cryo has continued their most successful historical adventure up to now, "Egypt 1156". Besides game title and the location of "Ancient Egypt" this two games really don't have much to do with each other. They take place in different periods of Egypt's history. While "Egypt 1156" takes place in Luxor where a young hero tries to restore his father's honor in the year 1156 B.C. and unmask audacious tomb robbers, in "Egypt 2" the female hero Tifet, a young, talented doctor has to save her adoptive father and the citizens of Heliopolis from a mysterious disease in...

NBA Live 08 screenshotNBA Live 08 2007 Sports
NBA Live 08 on PC adds an assortment of new features to the core graphics engine and play modes featured in NBA Live 07. One of the key components in the next-gen versions, "go-to moves," is included to help further distinguish star players from the typical NBA athlete. Kobe Bryant's spin and fadeaway, Tony Parker's hesitation and quick acceleration, and Dwayne Wade's step-back jumper are just some of the moves available. The inclusion of color-coded "hot spots" will help players quickly identify the most effective shooting areas on the court based on an athlete's real-life tendencies. Other key features include...

Bible Builder screenshotBible Builder 1992 Educational
Bible Builder is a fun trivia game about the Bible from Everbright Software, one of the first companies to have developed games exclusively for the Christian community (as an interesting side note, many such companies have since folded, including Everbright, with Wisdom Tree being one of the few companies that still exist today). Bible Builder is essentially a straightforward multiple-choice trivia game, but what makes it stand out is the nice graphical presentation and some gameplay varieties. There are three types of questions: geography (i.e. where certain events in the Bible happen), general concepts (i.e. what God created in the sixth...

Smoke Attack screenshotSmoke Attack 2002 Arcade action
Smoke Attack is another fun freeware game from the Swiss division of Phenomedia, one of the world's best promotional/tie-in game developers (an increasingly popular genre now commonly referred to as "ad-games"). Commissioned by Switzerland's Federal Office of Public Health, Smoke Attack was designed to increase people's awareness on the danger of smoking. You control "Oxy," a cute wide-eyed hero equipped with an oxygen gun. Your job is to navigate through offices, collect keys to unlock doors, and shoot smoking balls and cigarettes. You can find secret weapons, extra ammos, and other power-up items scattered throughout the level. Your goal is find...
