A young girl wakes to find herself inside a strange glowing coffin, in a dark room. Who is she? What is this place? Why is she here? As she explores the warped environment she finds herself trapped within, she must search for answers, all of which will lead her closer and closer to the white chamber and the truth it holds.
From the very first click I made the game had me interested and on edge. The story is complex and well paced and the main character is very well thought out. OK, maybe there's nothing completely original about this game... I mean we've all seen and played games where you've lost your memory and the story was revealing itself while you were discovering who you were, but hey - this one is done in an excellent way. You really get the feeling of anxiety and even schizophrenia while playing it.
The game will make you feel uneasy. There are many gruesome scenes that you simply won't expect and the eerie sounds in the background keep you on the edge of your seat - as if watching a great horror-thriller movie.
The puzzles are not too easy, but they are logical. The main character is intelligent and realizes something is wrong, most of all because she knows she has certain knowledge, but doesn't know how she obtained it.
You need to take this one step at the time, so you can't go solving several puzzles simultaneously. In this respect the game seems quite straight forward, but even when you think you know what you need to do, you'll never know what to expect when you next walk through a door!
The backgrounds are extremely well made, as well as all the characters. You might notice some small inconsistencies, such as the lack of lip-sync while watching video disks (the first media from which you'll be able to get a bit of a background story) down to waiting and active lights not changing on the panel although they're visible all the time. But those are really such small glitches you won't mind, especially as they don't take anything away from this great adventure.
One of the things that impressed me most was the fact that the game features full speech in English and the subtitles are translated into 6 other languages, so even people who're not as good at English might still enjoy the game.
Well, I guess you can see I'm really speechless, as I can't really tell you much about the game. It's not that I don't want to, but you simply have to experience it for yourself and I don't want to ruin the suspense by saying too much.
Still here's a brief plot outline: You awaken in a small room without any sense of where or when, not even who you are. Quickly you discover that you're in a space station and that something horrid must have happened there. Upon further efforts you realize that the station was a research facility and that the main secret of it lays within the white chamber. That's how the scientists working there called their main lab, a place where a new assistant (whose messages you get to hear) has no access to. Now it's up to you to solve this mystery and get some answers to the most basic questions. Can you do it without losing your nerves? I'm seriously asking you: can you? I dare you to try!
