An artistic melding of Metroid-style adventure games and side-scrolling shooters, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet finds players piloting an alien spacecraft through perilous silhouetted worlds. Throughout the adventure, gamers acquire items that can be used to battle enemies and open up new passageways, and each item can be upgraded several times. Periodic boss battles punctuate the estimated ten-hour, single-player adventure, but Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet also offers local co-op and a multiplayer mode in which four players can team up for online action.
