From the developers of Fuzzy's World comes a breakout game which is "designed to close the book on all Arkanoid style programs!" Beyond the same gameplay as Arkanoid, Electranoid additionally features enemy fighters, "menacers" which can "launch different coloured balls that will hinder the game play" and "the destroyers" who try to take your life...
This game is the modern pong. I first seen this game in an arcade hall during a vacation in France. I spent half of my vacation in that arcade hall.
The idea of the game is simple. You control a pad and with that pad you have to prevent balls from disappearing through the bottom of the screen.
Each level you will have to aim the ball at the blocks in the screen which will disappear when the ball hits them. When all the blocks are gone you progress to the next level.
But the makers of the game added some nice things to this basic idea. Some blocks will release power ups after they are hit. If you manage to hit these power ups with your pad, when they come down, your pad or the ball will be upgraded.
There will also be ships coming down holding additional balls that they will release when your pad in under the ship. If you have the time you could bounce these balls back up as well for even more action.
If you fail to bounce the ball back up you lose a pad and when all your pads are gone its game over.
All in all, Electranoid is a fun game to play every now and then. Year in, year out.
A great Arkanoid clone that, true to its name, not only replicates that arcade/puzzle classic but also takes it to new heights with more blocks, rockets instead of balls, and enemy machines that shoot you rockets. The object is still to destroy all colored blocks, but now with new additions it's more difficult and reflex-intensive than ever.
How to run this game on modern Windows PC?
