Pools of Darkness Download (1992 Amiga Game)

An evil demon had formed a huge army of horrific creatures and was attempting to take over the Realms, but thanks to your skill and a lot of luck you managed to overcome the powerful being and send him back to his own dimension. But this was not to be the end of your troubles. It wasn't long before he devised a way of making contact with your plane again, and once more it was down to you and your party of heroes to save the day.

Now, after many years, the peace is once again disturbed and an all too familiar presence is spreading throughout the realms, and the question upon everyone's lips is: "Can you save them this time?" Cor blimey! If SSI release many more games in the AD&D line I'm going to have to pop down to B&Q and buy myself a new shelf to hold them all. With the release of Pools of Darkness (POD) the tally has now reached a total of seven, with POD being the fourth release in its particular series. So just about everyone who likes RPGs has probably sampled at least one of the mega SSI series. You'll already know that the game follows the rules from TSR's official Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (Second Edition) role playing game to the dot.

As mentioned above, POD is the fourth game in this series and is not really for any newcomers as the monsters and puzzles that you meet along the way can be deadly, even for the more experienced RPGers.

The Boys Are Back

Once again you have the option to start a fresh with a party of new adventurers created in true Advanced Dungeons & Dragons fashion, or if you've beaten Secret of the Silver Blades you can port your faithful old characters who you've grown to love over the previous games complete with the mega weapons that you might have collected as well. This makes the beginning of the game easier, but who's complaining?
