Outside the storm raged. Thunder, lightning and rain all did their best to add drama to the occasion For in the castle on top of the hill there was some magic occuring. You cannot have magic without a wet one.
For years the magician's apprentice had dreamed of becoming as powerful as his master and now that the grumpy old geezer was out with his friends (at the annual meeting of the Familiar Fanciers Association) this was his big chance. He got the idea after having a dream about some broomsticks and a mouse called Michael. After spending hours reading his master's grimoires and preparing the spells he was now ready to begin. As he raised his arms and chanted the last magical syllables, lightning flashed across the sky and power flashed from his hands.
IT'S SO CUTE
This is where you take over. The apprentice's spell hasn't worked as expected and instead of materialising a pair of cute fluffy bunny slippers he has managed to mutate himself and the rest of the castle's inhabitants into strange balls of fuzz.
The object of the game is to move around the castle's 50 levels and return everybody back to their normal selves. This is made harder by having to complete puzzles along the way, having to collect gems and other items to replace those used in casting the big spell and fuzzballs that don't want to become human again. As if that isn't enough, you have to do it before the wizard returns from his night out.
THE FUZZ AWAY
The fuzzballs are destroyed by blasting them with a magical bolt. However, this will only render then inactive for a few seconds.
If you don't manage to get hold of them quickly, the extra magical energy will cause them to mutate again and become even stronger, faster and harder to zap. This will continue to happen until you either nab them or their energy becomes so dangerous that they blow up.
THE MEDIEVAL DEAD
Throughout the castle there are several areas that are decorated in different styles. As well as the standard medieval decor you will also visit the gardens, an oriental type of place and a rather cold dungeon that has ice over the floors. Each of the areas is filled with loads of rooms to make a grand total of 50 levels.
Each is different from the others and requires thought and skill to complete. Many are set out in a manner that asks you to move around the platforms In a set pattern to eliminate all the fuzzballs and collect every gem. Some require you to drop into a hole from which you can't free yourself (or similar dead end) and these must be visited last.
As you rush around the platforms collecting the gems, a clock counts down. When the time of no return comes, a gate opens and the level becomes flooded with nasties. Finishing the level is still possible but much harder.
